The level of competition has risen along with the profile of collegiate wrestling in the Commonwealth of Virginia, taking mid-Atlantic collegiate wrestling to a new level. Debuting as the Hokie Open in 2008 and continuing with that name through 2015, then as the Southeast Open in 2016, and once again as the Hokie Open in 2017 & 2018 and now continuing from 2019 to this year as the Southeast Open. The 2025 Southeast Open is our 16th season-opening tournament.
